2024 Year in Review

We're thrilled to share the incredible strides we've made in 2024, all thanks to your unwavering support and dedication. This June, our resources were pushed to the limit when we were contacted to help six severely ill or injured felines in just one week.

Rescue stories from 2024:

- A Feral Momma: Found lethargic and unable to nurse her four tiny kittens, she sadly passed away at Valley Vet ER. Her kittens, now thriving, were bottle fed and are ready for foster-to-adopt homes.
- Willie: Discovered with extensive wounds, likely from a fight, he required immediate surgery, antibiotics, and pain management to survive.
- Noodle: Also found with severe wounds on three paws/legs, needing multiple antibiotics, injections, and treatments.
- Stevie the Wonder Cat: Found wandering with severe eye infections, requiring emergency care and subsequent eye removal surgery due to her condition.
- Alexa Bliss: Lethargic and twitching when found, despite extensive bloodwork and supportive care, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to help her cross the Rainbow Bridge.
- Rooster and Hennie: Found huddled under a shed with severe respiratory infections and infected eyes, requiring immediate intensive care.
- Midnight: Suffered from a polyp in her ear, necessitating urgent surgery to prevent serious complications.

Grant Awards:
In addition to our rescue efforts, we’re excited to announce that SPAR was awarded a $2,000 matching grant from the United Spay Alliance. To secure the grant, we raised $2,000 at our vendor fair on August 18th, 2024, which allowed us to spend $4,000 on spay/neuter services for unowned community cats.

TTR Gala:
We were honored to co-host To the ResQ's Endless Pawsibilities Gala on November 23, 2024.

2024 Impact Numbers:
Here’s a look at our 2024 numbers.  We had 307 intakes, 178 adoptions, 84 cats Trapped, Neutered, Returned (TNR), 4 owner redemptions, 13 crossed rainbow bridge in our care, and 3 transferred to other rescues.

Events:
Join us for adoption events every other Saturday at Petco Winchester from 11 AM - 4 PM. We welcome donations of food, supplies, or monetary contributions. Volunteers are always needed for fostering, transportation, event support, and snuggle time with kittens. Yes, you can volunteer to cuddle with kittens!

Thank you for being a vital part of our mission to save and improve the lives of animals in need.
