Our Adoption Process
While you are welcome and encouraged to come to any adoption event to visit with and meet adoptable cats and kittens, you must have an approved application on file to bring your newest family member home. If you would like to set up a private meet and greet in one of our foster homes, a pre-approved adoption application is required. Please note that if you submitted an adoption application but did not receive a confirmation email (remember to check your spam folder), your application was not completed. If you have trouble, please contact us through this website so we may assist you.

Why do you need to contact my veterinarian?
-
We need to ensure all pets currently in the home are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on core vaccines, and that your vet has no red flags noted in your file. This is to protect your current pets and a newly adopted cat.
-
-
Why do you need to contact my landlord?
-
We will be sure you are approved with your landlord or property management company to have a cat in your home.
-
-
What are you looking for during the virtual home visit?
-
Safety is the number one thing we are looking for during a video home visit. Is your home prepared and safe for a new furry family member? We will also ask certain questions to be sure you have given thought to properly introducing a new kitty to your home to ensure a successful transition.

-
What does the adoption fee include?

-

What if I am interested in adopting a kitten or cat whose vetting is not yet complete?
-
If your kitty is not yet ready for adoption, then you can place a non-refundable adoption hold by paying the adoption fee in advance. If your kitten or cat is weaned, behaviorally ready, and medically stable, they can come live with you in a foster-to-adopt status until their vetting is completed by one of our approved veterinarians.
-
-
Can I use my veterinarian to complete vetting for my new family member?
-
Yes! If you choose to use your veterinarian, you are responsible for covering the costs of medical care. You are required to submit all medical records to SPAR. Please note that SPAR maintains legal rights to make all medical decisions for cats in foster-to-adopt homes.
